Dear Friend,

Thank you for taking the time to check out Cross Pointe Community Church... a new church with a fresh vision from God to reach the community in a practical and relevant way. Whether you are investigating the claims of Jesus, looking for help finding God, checking into the possibility of attending church either for the first time or for the first time in quite awhile, or searching for a church home, I hope that you find this web site helpful. There are many wonderful churches in Canal Winchester and in the entire Columbus area, with many different styles and approaches to church. Cross Pointe may or may not be the best choice for you, so I pray that God will help you in your search.

Let me share for a moment, how Cross Pointe got started.

I really felt God speaking to me in August of 1999 about planting a new church in the Columbus area. A purpose-driven church, not driven by my personality, by programs, or by the current spiritual temperature of the church but by the purposes that God established for the early church in the book of Acts (fellowship, worship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism [outreach]). A community-focused church that would meet people where they were at, not necessarily accepting the things that they do wrong, the things that the Bible calls sin, but accepting them as God accepts them, loving on them and showing them what it means to have an intimate relationship with their creator through Jesus Christ. A church that would be “others-focused”, rather than self-focused. A church that would be relevant to the community by providing music, messages, ministries, and eventually even architecture that would be user-friendly and something that people could relate to and actually use. A church that would be sensitive to the needs and the hang-ups of those who are investigating God and the claims of Christ, without compromising God’s message to unbelievers or believers.

As I prayed about this vision over the next year and a half, God worked on me, my attitudes and preconceptions, my heart, and most importantly, my relationship with Him. While in full-time ministry in one of the fastest growing new churches in central Ohio, God gave me the desire and the vision for Cross Pointe Community Church. In August of 2000, my family and I left our church and our comfort zone, to focus on this new work. We are so excited to be a part of what God is doing in Canal Winchester and the surrounding communities. The miracles have already begun and God has started the growth process; growing people, growing the community, and growing the church.

I invite you to visit us this next Sunday. As much as we try to give you enough information to help you picture Cross Pointe Community Church, the best way to investigate us is by visiting. If you have questions, feel free to call us at (614)834-4335, or e-mail me at RickReager@netzero.com. Thanks again for your interest in Cross Pointe, and may God bless you!
