Getting Bigger Requires Us To Get Smaller

If you have ever attended a church that was larger than about 25 people, you may have noticed that at times you felt less than connected, that you couldn't really get to know people in a church "service", and that it didn't seem as personal as you would have liked. You may have also felt that at times during the service, it would have been awesome if you could have said, "Wait a minute, but what about...?" or "But I've always thought that..."

The thing is, there are a lot of people who feel like that when attending church services. And the larger the church gets, the more these feelings are exaggerated.

At Cross Pointe, we realize that it's impossible to meet every single need of every single person in one church service a week. We also realize that there are certain needs that can never be met in a church "service" environment. Therefore, we believe that it is important to establish small groups that meet at various times and frequencies to help people get connected and to make sure that proper attention is given to people's individual needs.

Some small groups that form at Cross Pointe will be Bible studies, others will be ministry teams. Some will be support groups and others will be more fellowship oriented groups. The key is that we all need connection with others for support and encouragement, and our goal at Cross Pointe is to make sure that we continue to launch and grow new groups as our church grows and matures.
